About the area

Bang Tao is the busiest new-build area in Phuket. It is made up of several sub-areas with their own character: the Laguna resort with its hotels, golf course and lagoons; Lakelands, the newer lakeside part of Laguna; Blue Tree and Pasak towards the hills; Boat Avenue with its restaurants and shops; and the south of the bay next to Surin. Administratively almost the whole area is the Cherng Talay subdistrict.

Property prices in Bang Tao and Laguna

Bang Tao is one of the most expensive areas on the island: the price per square metre is above the Phuket average, and beachfront residences in Laguna are the most expensive on the island. Yet the area is open to moderate budgets too: small condos towards the hills cost a fraction of beachfront homes.

The area has both completed homes and projects under construction. A ready home can be lived in or rented out straight away; off-plan means a lower entry price and instalments until handover, but the developer’s track record matters more.
